Working with me

Who I enjoy working with

I enjoy working with people who value honesty, self-awareness, and want to live in ways that feel authentic and meaningful to them. I feel good when I can help individuals navigate anxiety, grief, and life transitions. I appreciate clients who are willing to look deeply at themselves, have difficult conversations, and take what they learn in therapy into their everyday lives. I believe therapy works best when we can explore difficult things, and find tangible ways for you to make meaningful changes outside of our sessions. My approach is down-to-earth, straightforward, with a little humor when it fits. I believe therapy should be restorative, and It's a privilege to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can feel heard, begin trusting themselves more, and find new hope for their futures.

What therapy with me is like

I'm pretty much myself in the therapy room. Naturally, I am good at listening and asking questions, but I’m 'm not the kind of therapist who just sits back and says 'mm-hmm' for an hour. I'm engaged in our conversations, and I'll offer thoughts, ask questions, and sometimes challenge you to think about things differently. I don't believe therapy has to feel overly clinical or formal to be effective. Some sessions are heavy, others are lighthearted, and many are a little of both. I want you to feel comfortable talking openly with me, even about the things that are difficult to think let alone say outloud, because you know I would never judge you. I also believe that what happens between sessions matters, and I'll encourage you, and give you tools to take what we're talking about and find ways to put it into practice in your life. My goal is for our time together to feel like a genuine conversation that helps you understand yourself better, build confidence, and make changes that are right for you.

About me

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and our dog, gardening, and tackling whatever project I've gotten myself into around the house. I love building things, fixing things, and figuring out how things work (sometimes with more success than others). Every now and then, I'll even sit down and play some video games. I'm also a HUGE football fan (Go Lions!). I have a pretty dry sense of humor, appreciate a little sarcasm, and value honesty, loyalty, and kindness toward people and animals alike.
